8.21.07 - Alexian Field
After feeling pretty good about what we were able to accomplish at Cellular, we took the show on the road back to Alexian Field, home of the independent league team Schaumburg Flyers. They were doing a double header tonight. 2 games, 7 innings a peice. Figured we had a chance to get into double digits. Yes, I know, it's not a major league baseball game. But there is definately a thrill to it.
I am having a little difficulty recounting it all at this point, but I know we got 6 balls in the first game. The game wound up going 15 innings. 2-1 was the final score. And both the original runs were scored in the first inning. So it was a long, pointless and boring game. But it was fun chasing the balls that left the stadium.
By the time the second game started, at 11pm, there were 37 people left in the ball park. Every single foul ball was ours. And there were only 3. Why couldn't this be the day when someone fouls like, 17 pitches in a row? Oh well. It was a good day. Saw 22 innings of baseball for 3 bucks. 14 mosquito bites and we returned home around 1am.
